Zusammenfassung: For older people, mobility plays a role second only to health. It is essential for participation in society and, as such, conditions one’s quality of life. But individual mobility changes shape as one grows older: aspects like efficiency become less crucial, while personal fulfillment and wellbeing grow in importance. Physical limitations place additional demands on mobility. However, digital technologies, which in any case play a leading role in current discussions on the future of mobility, offer many opportunities in terms of innovative products and services for older members of society. But these can only effectively enhance mobility if they take adequate account of the specific requirements of this target group – aspects like user-friendliness and acceptance.
